Chamaescilla corymbosa var. corymbosa is an ephemeral (ie short lived) herb. Linear, strap shaped leaves grow from a tuber. Flowers about 2cm across have 6 tepals,
A lily that grows through the wetter months of the year. Soft green leaves to approx. 30cm high emerge in April. In some areas these may be deep green, in other areas they have a silvery sheen.
The stems, up to 1 metre long, twine around vegetation or trail along the ground.
Thysanotus used to be included in the lily family (Liliaceae) Fringed lilies are small soft herbs, sometimes a climber. Each flower has 3 sepals and 3 large fringed petals. Common across Australia.
Dioecious (separate male and female plants) rhizomatous, caespitose (tufted) perennial, herb, 0.25-0.7 m high. Fl. white, May to Aug. White, grey, yellow or black peaty sand, lateritic soils.
Perennial climber: Roots tuberous: Leaves annual but infrequent: Delicate flowers have three distinctly fringed petals held upon short branches. Flowers and stems dieback to regrow in Winter.
Twining or prostrate herb; roots tuberous, tubers ellipsoid, c. 1–5 cm long, sessile or shortly stalked from a small rootstock. Leaves annual, 1 or 2, produced infrequently, terete, 10–20 cm long.
Grass like perennial forb 20-80cm tall. Leaves basal, with a sheath at the base, 20-80cm long, 1.5-5mm wide, flat. Male and female flowers on different plants. Fragrant flowers.
Perennial tussock, small to robust; rhizomes ascending. Leaves flat, rigid, coarsely veined, 20–60 cm long, 1–2.5 mm wide; apex acute to rounded; sheath margins white or orange-brown.
